ICHS 150th Anniversary – 2008
Who would have thought that in only 8 months, the ICHS family will begin celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Immaculate Conception Preparatory and High Schools. Unbelievable!!! Where has the time gone to???
Interest in growing among the Alumnae and we welcome Allison (Hemmings) and Oraine (Russell), both of whom have joined the Planning Committee. Even “Baby Oraine” attended the last Planning meeting. Welcome Ladies and we look forward to enjoying the enthusiasm and spirit which you both bring to the Committee. Allison and Oraine have kindly volunteered to take charge of the Brunch and activities associated with that activity….can’t wait to see and hear of the arrangements! Additionally, the Immaculate Conception Preparatory School is fully on board. The Principal, Ms Mendes, attended the March planning meeting and gave the full support of the school. Ms Mendes is already assisting us by sensitizing the parents of the Prep School students to the fact that 2008 is a special year for the IC family and that we look forward to their usual participation. The Prep School is represented on the Planning Committee by Ms Mendes and Mrs. Janet Sharp (nee Robinson – parent and Alumnae Assistant Treasurer).
I am encouraging all Alumnae who will be visiting in 2008 to think about joining us for Homecoming Week……July 6-12, 2008……..Mass, Boarders Reunion, ICHS Orchestra in Concert, Open Day at Immaculate, ALL YEARS REUNION – THEN AND NOW!, Family Picnic Day…..are you feeling the fun already?! We certainly are.
Another exciting development is that of the Communication and Public Relations Plan for 2008. Our team has begun working on that and as soon as it is finalized, we will circulate among all partners. In that regard, we intend to schedule the official launch of the 150th Anniversary in May 2007. The launch will include another television appearance by members of the Planning Committee, unveiling of the Logo and Theme for 2008, media interviews, etc. More to come on this one!
Many thanks to the Florida Chapter who so kindly and quickly donated the 2nd Place prize for the Logo and Theme Competition. The Florida Chapter is fully on board with a big announcement to be made shortly. Listen out for the surprise. THANKS LADIES and I look forward to seeing you on April 7, 2007.
The date of the next planning meeting is April 15, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Francis Hall at the ICHS Convent. Everyone is welcome to get involved and see you then! God Bless and walk good.
