ICHS 150th Anniversary Celebrations 2008
We have our logos and themes! The Logo and Theme competitions at the Preparatory and High Schools have been closed and the two logos/themes selected. They are impressive interpretations of our alma mater and in two weeks a special message will be sent out to all Chapters bearing both logos and themes. Under the guidance of our resident graphic artist and alumna Michelle Welsh (nee DaCosta, Class of 77) the students are putting the finishing touches on both designs. Hats off to the winning entries as follows:
High School: Prize-Giving on May 14, 2007
Thanks to Mrs. Adugo Onoro (Drama Teacher at ICHS) for her participation as a judge and her continued support for the effort.
Preparatory School: Prize-Giving on May 25, 2007
Thanks to Mrs. Jennifer Reid (Art Teacher at ICPS) for organizing the competition and her team of judges for their time and effort.
Special thanks to the New York Chapter for donating the I-pod for the Prep School and also for getting it here so quickly. Much appreciated!
So whats next? The respective teams are meeting and plans are now taking shape. One encouraging aspect is that a growing number of alumnae and parents have come on board and there are more to come in addition to interest from major corporate sponsors. We have also been meeting with other prospective sponsors while confirming the events as we go along the new schedule of events will be circulated with the logos and themes report. I am pleased to report that the following events are now confirmed:
Sponsors confirmed: Air Jamaica / Island Grill / Life of Jamaica
Our Marketing and Promotions teams are now working on the production of the banners which will be mounted at the High and Prep Schools for the new school year in September 2007. The work continues and as of June, we will be meeting more regularly as time draws near. The Planning Committee will meet again on June 10, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Francis Hall of the Convent. Until next month, keep safe and God Bless!
