ICHS 150TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS – 2008
The countdown has begun…….nine months to go!
Well, plans are already underway and the promotions have begun in earnest! On Friday, February 23, 2007, CVM Television hosted the ICHS team on their morning programme – CVM at Sunrise. Sister Maureen Clare represented the school’s administration as a past Principal, while Yasmin Chong represented the Alumnae Association, and a lively and informative discussion was had with the morning anchor – Alysia Moulton. The wind section of the nationally-acclaimed ICHS Orchestra under the direction of Mr. Campbell performed on the programme. From all reports, the interview and performance went over very well. Our sincere THANKS to CVM and Alysia!
Then at Assembly on Monday, February 26, 2007, Christine Dale and Yasmin Chong launched the ICHS 150th Anniversary Theme and Logo Competition to an excited ICHS. Judges now confirmed for the competition are Mrs Michelle Welsh (nee DaCosta and Class of 1977), Mrs. Odugo Onuro (Drama Teacher – ICHS) and Mrs. Hamilton (Head, Art Department ICHS). The competition closes on April 17, 2007 and several students have been enquiring about the prizes and rules. The rules of the competition are available throughout the School. We will continue to promote the competition during the Big Sister visit to ICHS on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 7:30 a.m.
We are pleased to announce too that our Toronto Chapter is providing us with the prize for the competition – an Ipod! The Chapter has advised that they have purchased the gadget and arrangements are now being made to transport it to Jamaica. WAY TO GO TORONTO – MILLION THANKS!
The date of the next planning meeting is Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Francis Hall at the ICHS Convent. Everyone is welcome to get involved and see you there!
