Message from the “Editor”
2010 seems to be passing by so quickly! Already two months have gone
and this is our first official communication. Even so, activities
continue togo on and alumnae are getting together in the various
Chapters (established and emerging), which keeps the association
vibrant and strong.
Remember that, as always, this mailing list continues to grow and
beupdated, so forward the bulletin to your friends who may not be
getting these regular updates, and encourage them to join the
mailing list. All we need is your name (current and maiden), year of
graduation, and e-mail address to start you off. Additional details
can be provided later on. Send all information to
ichsalumnae@hotmail.com
so that we can keep you informed.

New York Chapter
Happy New Year! May 2010 be the year that you realize long sought
after goals and dreams, as well as a year of good health, happiness
and prosperity.
2010 marks the 25th Anniversary for the New York Chapter. If you
haven’t been active in the association, we could really use your
input now! Do please get in touch ... email, snail mail, wireline or
wireless .... we need you!
We began 2010 with a bang by issuing the 7th edition of our
newsletter. If you didn’t receive a copy, please visit our website
...
www.ichsnyalums.org to take
a look. It features several pictures from our 24th Annual Dinner
Dance. On January 23rd, 2010 we also had the first general meeting
of the year at Nakisaki Restaurant (owned by alumna, Debbie Lyn).
Sincere thanks to alumnae who took the time to join us for a
productive meeting AND a good time!
We began 2010 also with a true fete – Jamaican style: a Winter Party
at Chef Orchid at JFK Airport in Queens, New York on Saturday,
February 6th, 2010. It had threatened to be a very snowy day. As it
turned out, the snow never quite made it. Turnout was not what we
had hoped it would be, but we had food galore and everyone had a
fabulous time! See our website for a few pictures. More pictures to
come in our next newsletter.
On March 21st, we will have a Celebration Mass and Dinner. Sr.
Angella Harris, OSF, Principal of ICHS has graciously agreed to join
us. In addition, the patrons for our 25th Anniversary Celebrations,
His Excellency Raymond O. Wolfe, Ambassador Extraordinary &
Plenipotentiary Permanent Representative of Jamaica to the United
Nations and his wife, Mrs. Sandra Bogues-Wolfe (an alum!) will be in
attendance. So do please plan to attend this joyous occasion.
Tickets are $65. Contact Camille
Mordaunt at 917/776-0989 or
legalcandi68@gmail.com.
In our attempt to raise $25,000 in 2010, we are participating in
UJAA’s Mega Raffle 2010. Tickets are only $5, so do please get a
bunch of raffle tickets and sell, sell, sell. The drawing for the
raffle will be held on Saturday, March 27th. If you need more raffle
tickets, contact Karlene Largie at 516/713-8270 or
karlenemlargie@aol.com.
Hope you will join us in making 2010 a spectacular year for our
school and the youth of Jamaica.
Ad astra, per aspera!
