In our Big Sister Programme, which has been ongoing for several years, alumnae visit a homeroom several times for the year and speak with the present students.

We maintain an outreach programme, with visits to the Ozanam Home at least twice each year.

Several awards are sponsored by the Alumnae Association.

  • Principal’s Award is presented at Graduation to the student who best emulates the ideals of ICHS

  • Davidica Award is a cash award towards tertiary studies, which is presented to a Sixth Form student at the annual Prizegiving ceremony

  • Alumnae Association Scholarship, which is supported by the New York Chapter, is offered to past students to pursue tertiary studies, and applications are available at the school or from the Alumnae Association.

Dear Alumnae,

The Franciscan Sisters of Allegany and the Buttino family wish to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to all the graduates of ICHS and members of the Alumnae Association for the tremendous outpouring of loving support, expressions of sympathy, and the love and gratitude expressed especially in “Facebook” by so many of you on the passing of our beloved
Sister James Vincent.

To all who were able to attend the funeral, who sang the Panis Angelicus, who formed the Guard of Honour so spontaneously, “thank you” in a special way.  Her two nieces who were present found it extremely touching.

Gratitude and appreciation too, to all who have contributed and are still sending in cheques to the Fund in her memory.  A little over J$81,000 was taken up in the collection at the funeral.  We will let you know the total amount and the use to which it will be put when it all comes in.

The family had a Memorial Mass for her in her hometown parish, St. Anthony’s Church in Cortland, N.Y. on Thursday, December 10, at noon.

Blessings on each and everyone of you and your families.  In continual memory of our dear Sister JV, may you hold fast to and spread the values that were dear to her and which she passed on to you.

Sister Maureen Clare, o.s.f.
